We are working with an established and growing structural engineering consultancy based in North West London (NW2), seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer to join the business in a senior, leadership-focused position. This is a hands-on technical role combined with team leadership responsibilities, ideal for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of projects, mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in the delivery and sign-off of structural designs and reports. The position is fully office-based, with regular site visits as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of structural engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship
- Communicate effectively with both UK-based and offshore team members
- Prepare, review, and sign off structural engineering reports
- Oversee and approve designs produced by junior engineers
- Attend site inspections and client meetings where required
- Ensure projects are delivered to a high technical and professional standard
- Maintain clear communication with internal teams and stakeholders
Requirements
- Chartered Structural Engineer status (MIStructE & MICE considered a strong advantage)
- Minimum 5 years UK structural engineering experience
- Proven experience writing and signing off structural reports
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
- Strong communication skills, with a patient and supportive leadership style
- Comfortable working from the office full-time and attending site visits
- Eligible to work in the UK
