A sector-leading manufacturer of complex engineered components supplied to the aerospace, automotive, defence and high technology industries is seeking a Lead Engineer to join their team.

You will play a pivotal role in defining technical requirements, providing direction to the team and ensuring successful New Product Introduction.

The Role

Lead a team of Engineers proving guidance, direction and coaching.

Develop existing and new tooling designs manufacturing methods to improve efficiency and product quality.

Investigate non-conformances with a view to establishing the root cause and implementing changes.

Provide subject matter expertise to the customer and develop solid long-term relationships.

Define, manage, and validate product requirements and acceptance criteria.

Be the company customer point for NPI & manufacturing programs.

Produce Engineering drawings.

Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external partners to drive system design, development, and delivery.

Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the engineering lifecycle.

The Person

Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a STEM-related discipline.

A good understanding of precision engineering processes (machining preferred but not essential).

The ability to lead mechanical design work packages.

Previous experience working in a highly regulated sector (aerospace and/or defence preferred).

Demonstrable experience in applying mechanical engineering for various products along with different stages of a product lifecycle.

Experience in using Solidworks or other 3D modelling software.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to influence across the business
