A global manufacturer of precision machined components is developing a new product for the aerospace & defence sectors and has a new vacancy for a CNC Engineer. Working in the R&D new product development division, you will produce small batch prototype products and candidates are sought with experience programming, setting and operating CNC Lathes.
The Role
- Programming, setting, operating CNC Lathes.
- Work with the design & development team on new product development.
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspections using measuring equipment.
- Verification & validation of machining strategies and inspection methods.
- Training of operators to operate machinery & one to one training on job operations.
- Assist the project team with the Industrialisation from product development to production.
- Process optimisation to optimise product quality and productivity.
- Work with tooling suppliers to optimise consumable costs.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
The Person
- Apprentice trained with minimum 5 years experience in a machine shop environment.
- FANUC CNC lathe programming experience.
- Good understanding of machining speeds & feeds for Exotic materials.
- Knowledge of CAD-CAM (AutoCad and/or Solidworks desirable).
- Must be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
