A precision engineering group which is currently investing in large scale plant improvements and implementing the latest manufacturing technologies has a new vacancy for a Control Engineer. Working as part of the group improvement team, you will be working on integrating new technologies & upgrading legacy control systems. Candidates are sought with a keen interest in new technologies and a good level of programming languages such as Python.
The Role
- Improve and optimize equipment uptime, reliability, and efficiency.
- Improve processes, programs & procedures.
- Develop self-sustainable trouble-shooting support system for various machines control system.
- Review the subsequent programming and modification when needed to existing control system.
- Assist in upgrading legacy control systems as and when required.
- Developing new strategies to monitor machines digitally and to optimise.
- Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
- Provide technical expertise to plant personnel including the maintenance team.
- Troubleshooting failures, directing repairs and evaluating equipment.
The Person
- Electrical Engineering Degree with hands on experience of Siemens S7 and/or Allen Bradley PLCs. (Knowledge of Mitsubishi PLCs is an advantage)
- Design and implementation PLC control systems for manual and automated machines.
- Ability to develop PLC programs, using structured programming practices in Ladder Logic and SCL, including motion control applications.
- Experience in integrating industrial robots with CNC machines or standalone manufacturing equipment. (preferable, not essential)
- Good organizational and communication skills and a proven ability to facilitate and deliver improvement.
