We are currently recruiting for an exciting and fast growing hair and beauty brand that is disrupting the UK beauty market with innovative, cruelty-free products. They are looking for an experienced Product Development Manager to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract in a flexible remote role. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and passionate product developer to play a key role in delivering innovative beauty products from concept through to launch.

They are one of the UK’s fastest-growing hair and beauty brands, known for creating innovative, cruelty-free products designed to simplify routines and deliver healthy, glossy results. Since launching just over two years ago, the brand has achieved significant industry recognition, including features on major industry watchlists and wins at prestigious beauty awards. With ambitious growth plans ahead, they are continuing to expand their team and product offering.

As Product Development Manager, you will lead the end to end development and delivery of innovative beauty products, from initial concept through to commercial launch. Reporting directly to the Co-Founder, you will work cross-functionally with design, marketing, supply chain, and external manufacturing partners to ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with market trends and customer expectations. This role will play a pivotal part in driving innovation and supporting the continued growth of the brand.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of the product innovation strategy in line with brand objectives and emerging market trends
  • Manage the full product development lifecycle from concept creation through to launch and commercialisation
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and consumer insight reviews to identify opportunities for new product development
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including marketing, design, and supply chain to deliver high-quality products
  • Oversee product formulation, packaging development, and compliance processes to ensure products meet industry regulations and standards
  • Create and manage project timelines, budgets, and key milestones to ensure successful product launches
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external manufacturers, suppliers, and partners to support sourcing and production efficiencies
  • Support sustainable and ethical product development initiatives wherever possible
  • Monitor product performance post-launch and use customer feedback and sales insights to recommend improvements and future opportunities
Requirements:
  • Strong experience within haircare and/or skincare product development
  • Experience managing projects, timelines, and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Background working with external suppliers and manufacturers, ideally on a global scale
  • Excellent understanding of haircare and skincare ingredients, claims, and formulation processes
  • Strong knowledge of the beauty industry, market trends, and competitor landscape
  • Awareness of current EU regulations relating to beauty and cosmetic products
  • Highly organised with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Passionate about innovation, beauty, and delivering exceptional products to market
