With maintenance contracts running nationwide and ambitious network expansion across the UK, we’re seeking skilled Fibre Splicers to join our growing team and keep the nation connected. This is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to tackle complex network faults, solve problems on-site, and make a real impact on UK telecoms infrastructure. This work also involves on-call responsibilities covering weekends and evenings for our customers.
Your Mission
- Perform fusion and mechanical splicing across underground, aerial, and in-premises environments
- Test, troubleshoot, and optimise fibre networks using OTDRs, power meters, and light sources
- Install and maintain fibre cables, enclosures, connectors, and patch panels
- Read and interpret splicing diagrams, technical drawings, and network plans
- Conduct upgrades, repairs, and expansions to ensure network reliability
- Maintain accurate records of work, test results, and material usage
- Work safely and responsibly at all times
- Collaborate with colleagues, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality results
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a Fibre Splicer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of fibre optic technology, network construction, and fault-finding techniques
- Call-out and Fault-finding Experience Is Essential
- Proficiency with fibre testing tools (OTDR, fusion splicers, power meters, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and network diagrams
- Problem-solving mindset and resilience under pressure
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Determination to meet and exceed daily targets
- Strong call-out and fault-finding skills to resolve network issues efficiently
- Team spirit, clear communication, and support for your crew
- Self-motivation and drive to continuously grow in your craft
- Understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Experience working in confined spaces
- Full UK driving licence, held for more than 2 years, over 25 years old, no more than 9 points on licence
- Required certifications: NRSWA, BT Openreach credentials, N23, SA001, SA002, SA007, SA008, IPAF Experience is essential for working effectively with clients and contractors
