As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking an experienced Civils Operatives Team Lead to join our team based in Birmingham (Coleshill).
The Role
As a Civils Operatives Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team on-site, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of all civils works in line with company standards and client requirements. This pivotal role supports our ability to progress quickly from build stage through to reinstatement, contributing directly to our continued growth across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the safety, quality, and environmental standards on-site and ensure the welfare of your team.
- Plan and coordinate daily site works according to client instructions and guidance from the Operations Manager.
- Ensure equipment, materials, and site arrangements are ready prior to work commencing each day – early starts may be required.
- Conduct daily risk assessments and ensure all safety, health, and environmental protocols are met.
- Undertake and oversee blockage clearance and reinstatement works.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, team members, and management to ensure consistent, safe, and high-quality project delivery.
Essential Requirements / Certifications
- NRSWA Units: LA, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 08 SA006, Q019, Q020, Q021, K008
- Proven experience in groundworks, civils operations, and leading teams in the telecoms or utilities sector.
- Strong focus on health & safety, with a responsible and proactive attitude.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across regions (Birmingham, Manchester, Bradford).
- Must be over 25 and hold a Driving Licence for a minimum of 2 years.
- Criminal Records Check (may be required).
- Regular Drugs and Alcohol tests are conducted.
- Van will be included for work use.
