Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Operations Manager to lead VEA FM's operational activities across the UK, including contracts in Scotland. This role combines strong operational leadership with responsibility for supporting business growth. The successful candidate will ensure service excellence across multi-site Hard and Soft FM contracts while actively contributing to the expansion and retention of our client base nationwide, including event operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day FM operations across multiple UK sites, including Scotland.
- Manage Hard and Soft FM service delivery across commercial, public sector, and event environments.
- Ensure high standards of service delivery, compliance, and client satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage operational KPIs, budgets, and cost controls.
- Lead, mentor, and develop multi-disciplinary operational teams and site managers.
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and statutory regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
- Support mobilisation of new contracts and oversee contract transitions.
- Support the growth of VEA FM's client base across England, Wales, and Scotland.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling Hard and Soft FM services within existing contracts.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to promote retention and long-term partnerships.
- Assist in preparing tenders, proposals, and operational input for new business opportunities.
- Attend client meetings, networking events, and industry engagements to promote VEA FM services.
- Contribute to achieving revenue growth targets and contract expansion objectives.
- Oversee facilities operations for events, including pre-event planning, live event support, and post-event demobilisation.
- Coordinate cleaning, security, waste management, stewarding, and technical support services.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure full HSE compliance during events.
- Manage staffing, logistics, and supplier coordination to meet dynamic event requirements.
- Ensure seamless service delivery to enhance client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Conduct regular site visits and performance reviews, including Scottish contracts.
- Resolve operational escalations efficiently and professionally.
- Ensure service level agreements are consistently achieved or exceeded.
- Provide performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing Hard and Soft FM operations across multiple sites.
- Demonstrable involvement in supporting business development or growing client accounts.
- Experience overseeing facilities services within event environments.
- Strong leadership and team management capability.
- Sound financial awareness, including budget management and cost control.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially aware with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
- Willingness to travel nationally, including Scotland, as required.
