Our maintenance teams are growing with significant growth in the new year.
This is more than a job its an opportunity to tackle complex network faults, solve problems on-site, and make a real impact on UK telecoms infrastructure.
This work also involves on call responsibilities covering weekends and evenings for our customers.
Your Mission
As a Fibre Splicer, you\'ll be at the forefront of our network operations, responsible for maintaining, repairing, and expanding fibre across the UK. Your role will include:
Performing fusion and mechanical splicing across underground, aerial, and in-premises environments
Testing, troubleshooting, and optimising fibre networks using OTDRs, power meters, and light sources
Installing and maintaining fibre cables, enclosures, connectors, and patch panels
Reading and interpreting splicing diagrams, technical drawings, and network plans
Conducting upgrades, repairs, and expansions to ensure network reliability
Maintaining accurate records of work, test results, and material usage
Working safely and responsibly at all times
Collaborating with colleagues, contractors, and clients to deliver high-quality results
What You Bring
Proven experience as a Fibre Splicer or similar role
Strong knowledge of fibre optic technology, network construction, and fault-finding techniques
Call-out and fault-finding experience is essential
Proficiency with fibre testing tools (OTDR, fusion splicers, power meters, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and network diagrams
Problem-solving mindset and resilience under pressure
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
Determination to meet and exceed daily targets
Strong call-out and fault-finding skills to resolve network issues efficiently
Team spirit, clear communication, and support for your crew
Self-motivation and the drive to continuously grow in your craft
Understanding of Health & Safety procedures
Experience working in confined spaces
Full UK driving licence, held for more than 2 years, over 25 years old, no more than 9 points on licence
Vehicle included for business use
Required Certifications: NRSWA, BT Openreach credentials, N23, SA001, SA002, SA007, SA008, IPAF
Experience is essential for working effectively with clients and contractor
