Overview
Civils Operatives x 5 – Telecoms.
We are looking for experienced Civils Operatives to join our telecoms infrastructure team in Castle Douglas.
Successful candidates will work on a range of underground and surface civil engineering activities, supporting the installation and maintenance of telecommunications networks while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out excavation, reinstatement, and duct installation works.
- Build and install telecoms chambers and boxes.
- Complete core drilling and duct blockage clearance activities.
- Install and maintain underground ducting systems.
- Operate excavators and other plant safely and efficiently.
- Work in accordance with NRSWA, health and safety legislation, and company procedures.
- Complete all required documentation and ensure work is delivered to specification.
- Work effectively as part of a civils team to meet project deadlines.
Essential Requirements
- NRSWA (Units LA, O1–O6 and O8)
- Q013 – Box Building
- Q019 – Core Drilling
- Q020 – Duct Blockage
- Q021 – Duct Laying
- Excavator (Digger) Ticket (valid CPCS or NPORS)
Desirable
- Previous experience in telecoms civils, particularly on Openreach or similar utility network projects.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
