VEA Civils, a division of VEA Group Limited, is an expanding civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure projects across the UK Water Sector. As a result of continued growth and a strong project pipeline, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Civils Site Manager / Project Manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with a proven track record in clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects who is looking to progress their career within a growing and ambitious business.

The Role

Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of civil engineering projects from planning through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role will involve managing a range of clean water and wastewater infrastructure schemes, with particular emphasis on deep excavations, temporary works, utility installations and associated civil engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site operations and project delivery activities.
  • Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, plant, materials and resources.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers and project teams.
  • Monitor programme performance, project costs and resource allocation.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments and toolbox talks.
  • Manage excavation activities and ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation and coordination of Temporary Works.
  • Ensure projects are completed to programme, budget and client expectations.
  • Maintain accurate project records, reporting and documentation.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager, Project Manager or similar leadership role within Civil Engineering.
  • Proven experience delivering Clean Water and Wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of deep excavation works and associated safety requirements.
  • Experience managing and coordinating Temporary Works activities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Commercial awareness and project management capabilities.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • EUSR SHEA Water National Water Hygiene Card
