Role Overview:
Technical Support Engineers will be responsible for resolving PostgreSQL-related issues, ensuring database stability, and assisting with performance tuning and migrations. These engineers will be the primary responders to database-related incidents.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 3/4 troubleshooting support for PostgreSQL databases.
- Perform query optimization, indexing strategies, and replication troubleshooting.
- Support containerized PostgreSQL deployments (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Assist with database migrations, schema conversions, and backup/restoration strategies.
- Participate in incident response and resolution in accordance with defined SLAs.
- Maintain PostgreSQL security best practices and ensure database integrity.
Qualifications & Experience:
Technical Support Engineer 1:
- 8+ years of PostgreSQL database administration experience.
- Expertise in query performance tuning and replication setup.
Technical Support Engineer 2:
- 6+ years of experience in PostgreSQL on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Strong knowledge of database backup, restore, and disaster recovery plans.
- Experience supporting PostgreSQL in cloud-based environments.
Technical Support Engineer 3:
- 7+ years in PostgreSQL database support, with expertise in PL/pgSQL scripting.
- Experience in automation of database maintenance using Ansible/Shell scripts.
- Contributions to PostgreSQL community patches or extensions preferred.
