We are seeking an experienced Release Manager to oversee the implementation and release of software and systems across multiple teams and methodologies. The ideal candidate will ensure that releases are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and align with business requirements. This role involves planning, coordination, governance, and post-release support to ensure successful delivery.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Release Planning and Execution:

  • Plan and execute software and system releases, ensuring smooth transitions through all stages of the lifecycle.

  • Conduct release implementation rehearsals and rollback planning to mitigate risks.

  • Manage Forward Schedules of Changes to maintain transparency across teams and stakeholders.

Methodology Management:

  • Oversee regular Agile releases involving multiple suppliers and Scrum teams.

  • Manage major releases delivered through the waterfall methodology.

  • Coordinate Canary releases and Blue/Green deployments to ensure minimal disruption and validate production readiness.

Governance and Assurance:

  • Establish and manage release governance frameworks, including approvals and quality assurance processes.

  • Ensure all releases meet compliance, security, and organizational standards.

Post-Release Management:

  • Plan and manage early-life support for deployed solutions, addressing issues promptly and efficiently.

  • Monitor release performance and conduct post-release reviews to identify areas for improvement.

Strong understanding of release management practices in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Experience with Canary and Blue/Green deployment strategies.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.

Tools and Technologies:

  • Release management tools: Jira, ServiceNow, or Azure DevOps.

  • Version control systems: Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.

  • Deployment tools: Jenkins, Ansible, or Octopus Deploy.

  • Monitoring tools: New Relic, Splunk, or DataDog.
