Baby Room Practitioner – Nursery, West London

Location: Brentford, TW8

Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

VD Recruitment has partnered with a well-established nursery in West London to recruit a passionate and experienced Baby Room Practitioner for their brand-new setting.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join from the very beginning, helping to shape the nursery\’s culture, routines, and high standards of care. Your ideas and experience will play a key role in creating a nurturing and inspiring environment where children, families, and staff can thrive.

You will work confidently within a small baby room (maximum 9 babies), supporting the daily running of the room and maintaining excellent standards of care and education. As the nursery grows, so will opportunities for training, development, and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day running of the baby room

Provide high-quality care in line with EYFS standards

Contribute ideas to support children\’s development and wellbeing

Work collaboratively as part of a supportive team

Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Essential Requirements

Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification OR

Level 2 qualification with a minimum of 1 year baby room experience

Knowledge of the EYFS framework (Montessori experience is a plus)

Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Experience with play-based learning approaches

Strong communication and listening skills

Friendly, flexible, and team-oriented attitude

Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and supporting children and families

Motivation to progress into more senior roles

Willingness to undertake further training
