In line with this vision, Techstars Berlin Accelerator is now entering a new growth phase. Our aim is to build the number one launchpad for European high-growth startups. The role of Finance Associate is a key part of this journey, with a focus on helping the teams do more faster. You will play a pivotal role in helping the companies make extraordinary progress over the course of the 3 month program. We’re searching for associates to work with teams across functions such as financial forecasting, market research, marketing, business development, product and design.
As the Finance Associate you will use financial knowledge to help companies develop their investment materials. This will include financial modelling, market research, helping them build their decks and writing up investment FAQs. You will support the founders by preparing them to have serious meetings with investors. All positions are temporary contracts designed to help you get exposure to the tech world from Berlin. We will be recruiting for this position twice per year. Extensions to contracts are possible when it makes sense on both sides. Your primary goal will be to help the teams on our program do more faster.
What You Will Do:
- Help companies build and understand their financial model
- Prepare companies with reliable and qualified financial data for investors to review
- Guide cost analysis process by providing trends, forecasts and comparative data; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
- Support companies with market research.
- Build scalable formats for founding teams to follow when presenting their market research.
- Help founders build their decks. Grill them on the details until they are air-tight.
- Prepare investment FAQs for each team.
- Be a problem solver and effective communicator to help navigate.

- Able to jump in and complete any task quickly and effectively with multiple companies simultaneously.
What You Bring To The Role:
- BA/MBA from an accredited college or university in finance, accounting, and/or minimum 5 years relevant experience (financial modeling, lead generation, investment analysis, business development, customer relations etc.)
- You have an interest in fast-paced environments with a focus on zero-to-one early-stage tech entrepreneurship, business operations, and/or project management.
- You have initial work experience in a high-paced environment, preferably in a tech startup, a large-scale technology company, a consultancy or an investment bank.
- You harbour a fierce drive to succeed. This is matched by your humility and a team-oriented attitude.
- Your verbal and written communication skills are razor sharp.
- You take the initiative and are comfortable working in ambiguous/unstructured environments.
- You are a great organizer and project manager.
- You are analytically oriented and make decisions based on data.
- You have unlimited capacity for, and take enjoyment from, networking with people from all walks of life.
- You have strong interest in the discourse surrounding technology, startups, entrepreneurship, and venture capital.
