VCCP\’s social and content marketing team are specialists in making social-first content that is grounded in native social behaviour. They live and breathe social media and have an in-depth knowledge of all existing and emerging social platforms and formats. The team do everything from creative content ideas and production through to live reportage, community management guidelines, moderation and influencer marketing.
This is a unique opportunity to join the rapidly growing team at VCCP as a client-facing Social Media Manager. The role is perfectly suited for someone with experience working either agency or client side in a fast moving social media management role, with extensive B2C experience. The ideal candidate is able to work from either our London or Stoke offices, as well as our client\’s offices in Manchester when required.
Work that we produce for this client spans everything from key brand moments like Christmas through to more day to day, harder working product communications, and includes every element of the marketing mix.
We have worked extensively to develop and embed a new social media strategy and ways of working alongside the client, and as the Social Media Manager you would be responsible for deploying this strategy by overseeing the development, publishing, monitoring, community management and reporting of owned and earned output. This would apply to their core channels of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X, alongside the opportunity in secondary channels like Pinterest, Reddit and Snapchat, as well as influencer campaigns using colleagues and third parties.
The role will include managing an agile process to deliver reactive ‘newsroom’ style content, alongside longer development cycles for planned cultural moments, campaigns and trading level ‘always on’ style output. You will have a responsibility to work with the wider VCCP team to ensure that social media is always considered within responses to brief, and delivered to best practice standards.
As part of the Social and Innovation team within VCCP, this role will report into the Head of Social and Innovation. You will be part of an immediate team made up of a Business Director, Account Director, Account Manager and Account Executive, plus social and data strategists, a creative team and designers.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Social Media Manager to help deliver a new strategy for a key client, with significant headroom and scope for growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Week to week and month to month planning of content to align with the existing marketing calendar both in terms of brand/product and cultural moments
- Preparing and sharing presentations outlining responses to brief, summaries of live content and content performance for Kia’s marketing team and wider business
- Liaising with client and agency side stakeholders to ensure that social media output is integrated with other channels and campaign work
- Writing copy for social media content and ensuring that best practice is adhered to and enforced across all content shared on the social platforms
- Briefing, reviewing and approving assets with the social media creative team, design and post production teams
- Working with the Account Management and Strategy teams to formulate agency briefs and strategies to respond to client briefs
- Oversight of social media production budget, assisted by the Account Manager and Account Director
- Reviewing competitor approaches and identifying opportunities to test or improve our output
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- The ideal candidate will have experience within a social media role either client or agency side
- Fully versed in the use of Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube for the purposes of advertising using both organic and paid strategies
- Good understanding of the use of Snapchat, Reddit, Pinterest for the purposes of advertising using both organic and paid strategies
- Full understanding of how social media is analysed and reported upon to determine its success
- Experience with Sprinklr as a platform for planning and publishing social media content
- Thorough understanding of influencer marketing
- Confident presenter and autonomous worker
- Understanding of community management and knowledge of working with online communities
- Used to responding to briefs within set deadlines
- High level of attention to detail and an appreciation for the written word
- Prior experience in FMCG or retail preferred but not necessary
- Drivers license preferred
