Maconomy ERP Testing Manager

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Maconomy ERP Testing Manager to lead the testing workstream for a Deltek Maconomy ERP consolidation. The role will be responsible for defining the test strategy, managing system testing, integration testing, data migration testing and user acceptance testing, and ensuring the solution is ready for go-live.

Purpose of the Role

The Maconomy ERP Testing Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing all testing activities for a Deltek Maconomy ERP consolidation (Workbook functionality being migrated to Maconomy), upgrade or enhancement programme. The role ensures that business processes, integrations, data migration, reporting, security roles and finance/project accounting workflows are properly tested before go‑live.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the overall ERP test strategy for system testing, integration testing, data migration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, security testing, reporting, cutover and go‑live readiness.
  • Plan and create detailed test plans, schedules, entry/exit criteria, governance and reporting standards.
  • Ensure full test coverage of core Maconomy business processes: project setup and lifecycle, client & job/project management, time entry and approval, expense entry and approval, purchasing and supplier invoices, client billing and invoicing, revenue recognition, project accounting, general ledger postings, month‑end & period close, intercompany processes, workflow approvals, resource planning (if in scope), management & finance reporting.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of User Acceptance Testing, including identifying UAT testers, building realistic scenarios, coordinating execution, tracking completion and defects, supporting users, and capturing business sign‑off.
  • Work with business analysts and functional consultants to produce test scripts that include business scenario, preconditions, step‑by‑step actions, expected results, actual results, evidence capture, defect reference, pass/fail status and owner sign‑off.
  • Own defect management: log, triage, categorize by severity and priority, assign to owners, track fixes/retesting, report aged/high‑impact issues, and ensure no critical defects remain open before go‑live.
  • Coordinate testing of integrations between Maconomy and systems such as Sage HR, Active Directory/Entra ID/SSO, banking platforms, reporting platforms, data warehouse/Power BI.
  • Provide regular test reporting to the ERP Programme Manager, sponsors and steering committee, covering test progress, pass/fail rates, defect status, critical risks, blockers, readiness assessment, UAT sign‑off status and go‑live recommendation.
  • Deliver key items: ERP test strategy, master test plan, test schedule, test script library, UAT pack, defect log, daily/weekly test status reports, test completion report, go‑live readiness assessment and business sign‑off evidence.

Required Experience

  • Managing ERP testing for finance or professional services systems.
  • Experience with Deltek Maconomy, ideally in an advertising agency, consultancy, professional services or project‑based business.
  • UAT coordination across multiple business units or countries.
  • Finance process testing, including billing, revenue, GL, AP, AR and month‑end.
  • Defect management and test governance.
  • Working with system integrators and business stakeholders.
  • Managing testing in a project or programme environment.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel, Azure DevOps, Jira, DevOps Test Plans, Smartsheet or similar.

Desirable Experience

  • Deltek Maconomy implementation or upgrade experience.
  • Experience with or exposure to Deltek Workbook.
  • Experience with Maconomy integrations.
  • Experience with data migration testing.
  • Professional experience in advertising, media, marketing, consulting or professional services.
  • Knowledge of project accounting and client billing.
  • Experience with Power BI or reporting validation.
  • Experience working across multiple legal entities, countries or currencies.
