VCCP is the Challenger Agency for Challenger Brands. An independent, 1,650-person strong creative company, that exists to transform its clients fortunes by disrupting the categories they operate in.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Deputy CFO, the successful candidate will be the authority on financial reporting, tax and working capital for the VCCP Group. The Group Financial Accountant will be looking to drive continuous improvement thus ensuring consistent accurate reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting and Control:

  • Lead the preparation for the year-end audit process.
  • Preparation of the Group consolidated accounts (2 sets), inclusive of IFRS16.
  • Preparation of the statutory accounts for the non-consolidated companies (using IRIS), inclusive of IFRS16.

Group Reporting and Management Accounts:

  • Prepare the monthly management accounts for the UK holding companies.
  • Prepare the monthly group consolidation, analysis and reporting to the Deputy CFO.
  • Prepare & submit the Budgets for the UK holding companies.

Balance Sheets and Working Capital:

  • Review the bi-weekly short-term cash-flow forecasts for the VCCP Group.
  • Review the Balance Sheets.
  • Prepare the Foreign Exchange (FX) journals.

Treasury

  • Supporting bank account management across the Group (account openings, mandates, cash pooling arrangements and rationalisation projects).
  • Monitoring and analysis of the Group\’s cash positions, including; GBP and foreign currency cash, intercompany loans and debt levels.
  • Responsibility for certain obligations under the debt facility.
  • Cash flow forecasting

Tax

  • Prepare the Corporate Tax Analysis in order to support the Group Tax Manager in the preparation of the tax returns.
  • Prepare the estimate for the UK corporation tax instalment payment.
  • Support with the Group and company VAT returns.

Other

  • Part of the team who reports monthly results to internal & external stakeholders
  • Opportunity to be involved in other project work such as M&A & Transfer Pricing.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • An ACA qualified accountant, who is both technically competent and has excellent levels of accuracy and attention to detail, with a well-rounded understanding of business in general.
  • Up to two years\’ post qualified experience.
  • You will need strong written and verbal communication skills and be confident in communicating with all levels of the business.
  • Well organised but with the ability to be flexible and respond to changing deadlines and requests.
  • You must take real pride in your work and have a strong sense of ownership.
  • Able to work using own initiative but also be committed to supporting the wider team whenever possible.
  • Intermediate Excel ability with experience using Pivot Tables, vlookups, data linking etc.
