THE ROLE: Reporting into a Finance Business Partner, the position will be working alongside the team of four management accountants. You will have responsibility for producing the monthly management accounts for several P&L’s across the VCCP Group for the Finance Partner’s review and subsequent presentation to the CFO and CEO. This is a key area covering income recognition and overhead reconciliation. This is a diverse role that gives real responsibility whilst also offering support of a very experienced finance community. It is an ideal position for someone looking to put into practice the skills they have developed in their studies and who is ambitious, with plenty of room for future development and progression.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reporting and Planning: You will be responsible for producing the monthly management accounts for VCCP Group, including commentary on all material variances. Preparation and posting of all month end income, cost accruals, prepayment and re-classification journals and subsequent reconciliation of management accounts to Paprika. Monthly reporting of actuals, forecast, KPI’s and commented movement analysis to group via the TM1 consolidation tool. Working with Account teams and Finance Partner to ensure the forecast is up-to-date and accurately reflects income and costs. Help to prepare the annual budget.
- Cost Management & Controls: Coding and authorising overheads relating to payroll, including the review and authorisation of monthly payroll, staff costs and updating and reconciling all freelance costs. Ensure the business is adhering to all financial processes and controls. Reviewing Partnership headcount for accuracy and approving the relevant recharges. Owning and updating the VCCP Pitch cost tracker. Full Balance Sheet reconciliations including the preparation of monthly balance sheet reporting packs for Finance Partner review and submission to parent companies.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: An ACCA or CIMA studying Accountant, who is both technically competent and has excellent levels of accuracy and attention to detail, with a well-rounded understanding of business in general. You must have at least two years’ experience in an accounts or finance department, preferably in an account assistant or assistant management accounting role. You will need strong written and verbal communication skills and be confident in communicating with all levels of the business. Well organised but with the ability to be flexible and respond to changing deadlines and requests. You must take real pride in your work and have a strong sense of ownership. Able to work using own initiative but also be committed to supporting the wider team whenever possible. Intermediate Excel ability with experience using Pivot Tables, vlookups, data linking etc.
