We are looking for an ambitious and highly organised individual who is articulate, curious, proactive and thrives in a fast-paced environment across a range of projects. The successful candidate needs to be a natural self-starter and can work as part of a team across a range of disciplines. We are seeking a logical, detail-oriented AI Operations Specialist to join our Operational Excellence team. The primary focus of this role is to bridge the gap between business process improvement and cutting-edge technology. You will be responsible for identifying inefficiencies and building, configuring, and deploying AI-driven automations - predominantly utilising Google Gemini ‘Gems’ and other emerging AI tools - to drive measurable productivity gains.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process Discovery: Partner with business stakeholders to analyse departmental workflows to identify "friction points" and manual tasks suitable for AI intervention.
- Automation Development: Design and configure custom Gemini Gems and AI agents tailored to specific business needs (e.g., data synthesis, reporting, and workflow triggers).
- Prompt Engineering: Develop, test, and maintain a library of robust, repeatable, and high-quality prompts to ensure consistent and accurate AI outputs.
- Implementation & Training: Manage the end-to-end rollout of new automations, including creating "How-To" documentation and conducting user training sessions.
- AI Coaching: Proactively coach team members across the business to embrace new tools and build skills to become self-sufficient in creating their own automations.
- Performance Monitoring: Use a numerical approach to track and report on the ROI of automations (e.g., hours saved, error reduction, and speed of delivery).
- Tool Advocacy: Stay updated on the latest AI features and low-code/no-code tools to ensure the Operational Excellence team remains at the forefront of automation technology.
ROLE SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
- Highly Collaborative: Able to build relationships with people at all levels, bridging technical knowledge with operational realities.
- Analytical Mindset: A strong background in a structured or numerical discipline (e.g., STEM, Finance, Economics, or Business Operations).
- Logical Problem-Solving: Ability to break down complex processes into logical "if/then" steps and flowcharts.
- Prompt Mastery: Experience writing complex prompts that handle edge cases and minimise errors.
- Data Preparation: Experience in cleansing and structuring data from disparate sources.
- Technical Literacy: Comfort with Google Workspace and an interest in low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Power Apps, Zapier, Make, or AppSheet).
- Experience Level: Junior to Mid-level (1–3 years of experience in operations, data analysis, or a technical support role).
