THE ROLE
We are looking for an ambitious and highly organised individual who is articulate, curious, proactive and thrives in a fast-paced environment across a range of projects.
Whilst the successful candidate needs to be a natural self-starter, it is also important that the candidate can work as part of a team across a range of disciplines.
This is a unique opportunity to join the rapidly growing team at VCCP as a Social Account Director.
The role is perfectly suited for someone with experience working either agency side in a fast-moving social account team role.
The ideal candidate is passionate about brand culture, and most crucially, possesses a deep, nuanced understanding of social content and culture in the UK.
The role will involve leading the team across always-on content strategy, creative development, content production, influencer management, and management of the brand's social channels.
The work we will be creating will span from reactive same-day turnaround to longer-lasting content series, specific to each social channel.
The role will include managing an agile process to deliver reactive ‘newsroom’ style content, alongside longer development cycles for planned cultural moments.
As part of the VCCP Social team within VCCP, this role will report into the Business Director on the account.
You will be part of an immediate team made up of a retained Business Director, Account Manager, Producer, Creative Director, Creators, Influencer Manager and Social Strategist.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Account Director to help deliver excellent creative work, with significant headroom and scope for growth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Commercial & Financial Leadership
- Act as the lead strategic advisor on social to your client(s) and the ‘go-to’ person for helping them navigate the modern social landscape.
- Report directly to the Business Director, sharing full responsibility for account health, organic growth, and driving commercial value.
- Identify and build relationships with key budget - holding clients across their business, proactively pitching social-first solutions, influencer programs, and always-on content strategies.
- Take responsibility for client revenue targets, forecasting, scope management, and support negotiations on agency fees, production budgets, and retainers.
- Agile Account & Project Delivery
- Treat your account team as a "mini-agency," embracing an entrepreneurial approach to leading always-on "drumbeat" content, newsroom reactivity, and long-term campaign drops.
- Oversee agile delivery processes across a multidisciplinary team: Producers, Creative Directors, Creators, Influencer Managers, Community Managers, and Social Strategists.
- Ensure seamless operation between the account team, the client, and our in-house creator studio for fast-turnaround content creation.
Maintain compliance with VCCP reporting, legal, platformpolicy/legislation, and contractual billing processes.
- Delivering 'Challenger Agency' Social Output
- Head up the agency’s strategic and creative response to client briefs, ensuring work adheres to social-first principles, platform mechanics, and native audience behavior.
- Oversee both rapid same-day turnaround "reactive" content and planned cultural campaigns across platforms
- Review creative work objectively and constructively, collaborating with Creators and Creative Directors to push for work that builds cultural heat and sparks fandom.
- Lead campaign evaluation and performance reporting alongside Planners and Community Managers to translate social metrics into meaningful business learnings for clients. 4.
- Talent & Team Management
- Work with the Business Director and People Team to recruit, retain, and develop top-tier social account talent.
- Lead, motivate, and mentor Senior Account Executives, Account Managers, and Community Managers, fostering a collaborative, fast-paced, and high-energy environment.
- Conduct timely appraisals and career development planning, educating your team on best-in-class social account management.
- Role-specific skills & experience
- Experience: Proven track record in an Account Director role within an agency environment, leading dedicated social media, content, or influencer accounts.
- Platform & Cultural Mastery: Deep, native understanding of platform formats, algorithms, and trends across Tik Tok, Meta (Instagram/Threads), You Tube, and emerging platforms.
- Agile Workflow Experience: Experience managing multi-speed production workflows (balancing rapid newsroom turnaround with long-term strategic production cycles).
- Creator & Influencer Ecosystem: Strong knowledge of influencer marketing, creator-led production, and community management workflows.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated experience in budget scoping, client fee negotiations, and financial forecasting
