Location & Hours: Cromwell Veterinary, Cambridgeshire; Part‐time or full‐time (Full‐time: 4 x 9-hour days); 1 in 4 weekends; No out‐of‐hours work.

Overview: Approx. 9‐month fixed‐term opportunity for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon at Cromwell Vets. Role includes hospital‐based work at Huntingdon site and branch exposure with occasional sole‐charge duties within local branch network. Collaboration with a 26‐vet team and multidisciplinary expertise across medicine, surgery, imaging, cardiology, dentistry, oncology, ophthalmology, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide veterinary care to a large, varied caseload in a busy, progressive hospital setting.
  • Work collaboratively with a dedicated twilight and night team to maintain continuity of care.
  • Manage hospital‐based treatments and procedures, including advanced diagnostics and surgery.
  • Perform sole‐charge branch consulting as required.
  • Participate in structured rounds and continuous learning sessions.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary case discussions and referral culture.

Qualifications:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Minimum 2–3 years UK small‐animal experience.
  • Comfortable performing both hospital‐based work and sole‐charge branch consulting.
  • Experience in a high‐throughput, busy clinical environment.
  • Motivated, proactive, eager to develop clinically; strong team player.
