Eastcott Referrals have an exciting opportunity for a Night Patient Care Assistant to join their out of hours team. In this role you will have the opportunity to enhance your veterinary patient care skills amongst a friendly and supportive team seeing a diverse and exciting range of cases.

This is a permanent full-time position working 1 week on, 1 week off, 9pm - 7am. (35 hours per week)

In this role you will work closely with the out of hours team assisting with patient care and husbandry, running in-house lab tests, packaging biological samples, preparing theatre and patients for surgeries, circulating in theatre, cleaning and maintaining the quality of our instruments, and assisting with the smooth running of the practice.

  • Cleaning, disinfection and preparation of patient accommodation.
  • Actively maintain the hospital and follow infection control procedures. This will include sterilising and deep cleaning among other duties.
  • Assist with reception and client care, including answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries, booking procedures and taking payments.
  • Assist Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses, and support staff where and when required.
  • Work and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. Demonstrate the ability to be reliable, adaptable, understanding and empathetic.
