Position Overview

Location: Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists, Winchester, Hampshire

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Part Time – 32 hours per week

Salary: Starting from £31,200 per annum (inclusive of enhanced weekend rate), depending on experience.

About the Role

This is a part‑time permanent position. Working hours are:

  • Thursday and Friday nights and 1:3 Wednesday night shifts.
  • Participation in the weekend rotation – 1:3 Saturday night shifts and Bank Holiday rotation.

About You

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with proven experience in a similar role.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Can work well in a busy environment.
  • Proactive, "can do" attitude.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

  • Specialist services include Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Cardiology, Anaesthesia, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Oncology, Physiotherapy, Ophthalmology, and Pain Clinic.

Day‑to‑Day Duties

  • Primarily based in ward areas, ensuring patient comfort and recovery during stays.
  • Nursing a wide range of cases: specialised diets, medications, pain relief, physiotherapy, catheter and drain care, mental stimulation and wound management.
  • Work closely with clinicians, anaesthetists, patient care assistants, twilight team and day nurse teams.
