Location: Garston, Frome

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Hours: 38 hours per week, 4 days a week (7.30am – midnight). Weekend work on a rota basis.

Overview: We are looking for a proactive Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our fantastic team. PCAs work in all areas of practice and must accept instruction from a variety of people. The role involves preparing theatres for surgeries, cleaning and maintaining instruments, assisting with patient care and husbandry, running in‑house lab tests, packaging biological samples, and supporting the smooth running of the practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning, disinfection, and preparation of patient accommodation.
  • Actively maintain the hospital and follow infection control procedures, including sterilising and deep cleaning.
  • Assist with reception and client care: answering telephone, dealing with enquiries, booking procedures and taking payments.
  • Assist Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses and support staff as required.
  • Work and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Demonstrate reliability, adaptability, understanding and empathy.
