Position Overview

Location: Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists, Winchester, Hampshire

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Part Time – 32 hours per week

Salary: Starting from £31,200 per annum (inclusive of enhanced weekend rate), depending on experience.

About the Role

This is a part‑time permanent position. Working hours are: Thursday and Friday nights and 1:3 Wednesday night shifts. Participation in the weekend rotation – 1:3 Saturday night shifts and Bank Holiday rotation.

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with proven experience in a similar role.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Can work well in a busy environment.

Serene countryside setting with state‑of‑the‑art facilities, 24/7 service for pets. Leading veterinary specialist referral hospital caring for small animals daily. Specialist services include Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Cardiology, Anaesthesia, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Oncology, Physiotherapy, Ophthalmology, and Pain Clinic. Committed to providing the highest quality surgical and medical care with nationally/internationally recognised specialists.

Day‑to‑Day Duties

  • Primarily based in ward areas, ensuring patient comfort and recovery during stays.
  • Nursing a wide range of cases: specialised diets, medications, pain relief, physiotherapy, catheter and drain care, mental stimulation and wound management.
  • Work closely with clinicians, anaesthetists, patient care assistants, twilight team and day nurse teams.
