V&C Associates are partnering with a leading fashion design studio that specialises in the design, development, and sourcing of True Casual Outerwear including with a focus on technical fabric and design supplying some of the world’s recognized high-street fashion brands.
As Senior Casual Outerwear Designer, you will play a key role in creating innovative, commercially viable collections that capture the latest trends while staying aligned with client and market demands. This role blends creative vision with technical expertise and requires close collaboration across design teams, account managers, offshore development teams, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Creative Development
- Develop original, trend-led designs casual outerwear for high-street fashion brands.
- Contribute to seasonal colour, fabric, and trend direction.
- Create sketches, technical drawings, and digital illustrations using industry-standard design software.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work alongside account managers and offshore teams to complete seasonal collections and present to clients.
- Build and maintain strong communication with clients, factories, and partners across Europe and the Far East.
Fabric & Materials
- Support the selection of fabrics, trims, and materials that match both creative and functional needs.
- Carry out material assessments to ensure durability, performance, and suitability.
Technical Development
- Prepare accurate and detailed tech packs for all designs.
- Guide and support offshore teams to meet design specifications and deadlines.
Sample & Product Development
- Collaborate with sample makers to transform concepts into prototypes.
- Attend fitting sessions, sharing feedback on fit, style, and comfort.
Quality & Standards
- Check samples against design specifications to guarantee high standards.
- Work with the quality control team to resolve any production challenges.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Fashion Design or related field required.
- Proven experience designing for high-street fashion brands.
- strong knowledge of the retail fashion market and consumer trends.
- proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience in 3D design software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence working across diverse teams.
