V&C Associates' Travel Department has been retained to recruit an Americas Sales Specialist on behalf of our client — a leading, award-winning tour operator with an outstanding reputation for bespoke travel experiences. This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate travel professional to join a high-performing Americas Sales team with strong career prospects.

The Americas team covers North, Central and South America, Antarctica and the Caribbean. Our client is seeking candidates with a passion for and knowledge of North America specifically, whether that's broad regional expertise or specialised knowledge of particular sub-regions. This is a hands-on, client-facing role. The successful candidate will be highly organised, driven, an excellent communicator, and deeply attuned to customer needs. Applications are welcome from both internal and external candidates. The business is committed to delivering detailed, specialist-led itineraries with a level of service that sets them apart from competitors — and they’re looking for someone who shares that ambition.

Main Responsibilities

  • Delivering exceptional sales and service to clients interested in holidays across your specialist region, with a focus on conversion, retention, margin, and account management.
  • Managing both new and existing client accounts via phone, email and in-person meetings.
  • Keeping yourself and the team current on specialist product knowledge through competitor research, data analysis, client research and familiarisation trips.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Service, Product and Marketing teams to ensure the product offering remains best-in-class.
  • Supporting the Region Manager and senior team members with day-to-day operations, including input into recruitment and training.

Key Requirements

  • Genuine passion for and demonstrable knowledge of North American destinations (knowledge of Latin America would be advantageous).
  • Minimum 2–5 years' work experience; a background in bespoke North America travel is beneficial but not essential — passion and knowledge are the priority.
  • Experience of living or working in the region is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality results to deadline.
  • Strong communication skills and a personable manner.
