V&C Associates is proud to be partnering with one of the largest Residential Estate Organisations within the City of London who are recruiting for an Engineering and Maintenance Manager responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance, responsive repairs and ensuring safe working homes to our clients' customers. This role is key to the delivery of a professional and highly proactive maintenance and repairs service that our customers can rely on.
This role will be required to carry out any repairs and remedy any defects to properties as instructed by Facilities Managers and Team Leaders.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensuring that they adhere to Health and Safety legislation, and a safe and secure working environment.
- Accountable for the quality of the maintenance and repair work delivered.
- Ensuring that the work they deliver meets the standard.
- Carrying out dynamic risk assessments to ensure that they are in a safe working environment and escalating issues to their line management.
- Accountable for raising any maintenance, repair concerns that they identify when performing the tasks that they have been assigned.
- Reporting any health, safety, security and safeguarding concerns and incidents that they encounter in and around the properties.
- Supporting the facilities team to provide an excellent service to our customers.
- This role will provide a service to several properties and there will be an expectation to travel between buildings.
- To carry out multi trade building and facilities work to a high standard as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Minimum of entry level skills in construction to deliver general duties and minor repairs.
- Desirable: relevant construction and facilities management qualifications.
- Understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities.
- Good communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Driving license required.
- Willingness to support the local and regional team as required.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to use Microsoft Office and PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) maintenance systems.
- Ability to work at pace whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to offer flexibility in working hours and to take part in the on-call rota.
- Ability to work contracted hours over a 5/7 working pattern.
