V&C Associates are working with a global powerhouse in fashion design, development and sourcing turning creative vision into commercially proven collections for brands and retailers. We are looking for an Assistant Designer to bring ideas, energy and precision to our Childrenswear team — working primarily newborn ranges.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior designers to create on‑trend, commercial collections.
- Transform ideas into sketches, CADs and digital artwork using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Build detailed tech packs and oversee sample development through to approval.
- Research fabrics, trims and finishes — balancing creativity with comfort, performance and value.
- Track emerging trends and provide design intelligence that inspires each new season.
- Prepare look books and presentations for internal reviews, sales meetings and trade shows.
- Collaborate closely with tech, production, merchandising and QC teams to deliver to spec and schedule.
- Maintain organised design files, samples and documentation to support smooth workflow.
Characteristics and Experience
- A degree in Fashion Design or related field (internships/work experience a plus).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; knowledge of CLO 3D or similar tools is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of fabrics, garment construction and tech pack creation.
- Strong creativity, attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
- A real passion for kidswear and the drive to keep learning and growing.
