About the Position
You will play an active role in building our relationship with founders and helping them from the beginning to the end of the investment journey. You will be responsible for deal sourcing in the DACH region, and due diligence for investment opportunities for the early stage fintech team. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in engaging existing portfolio companies and in providing them with operational support, working on their ideas and supporting them with your “can-do” attitude. You will take part of the EMEA Fintech team, getting exposure to the Fintech teams working at Growth stage and in Emerging Markets.
Your Responsibilities
- Source and screen (pre-)seed fintech companies in the DACH region
- Perform in-depth due diligence
- Prepare summary materials and present investment recommendations in deal meetings
- Actively monitor portfolio companies, eventually taking board seats and help with key strategic projects, including fundraising and business development
- Represent Speedinvest at conferences and events
- Assist with special projects on an as-needed basis
Your Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
- Excellent academic track record at a top tier University
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced work environment (such as VC, PE, Fintech startup, Consulting, IB)
- Some previous exposure to Fintech and demonstrated interest in the start-up ecosystem
- Fluent in both English and German
