We’re a pre-seed and seed-stage venture capital firm focused on backing the most ambitious founders across Europe. What sets us apart is our deeply thesis-driven approach, powered by a proprietary AI and data infrastructure that enables us to discover emerging trends, identify category-defining founders earlier, and make more rigorous investment decisions. This role offers a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of venture capital, data, and AI — working alongside partners and technologists to help shape the future of how VC is done.

What You’ll Do

  • Top-of-Funnel Sourcing: Use Moonfire Launchpad — our proprietary internal AI tool — to identify promising early-stage startups based on leading signals. You’ll combine this with your own pattern recognition, instinct, and outreach creativity to find breakout companies early.
  • Thesis Development: Contribute to both refining existing theses and developing new ones. You’ll work with the team to spot whitespace, map emerging markets, and build conviction on where the world is heading — and which founders are best positioned to lead it.
  • Diligence & Decision Support: Join founder calls, help run early diligence processes, analyze market data, and write crisp internal memos that inform our investment decisions. You’ll learn what real conviction looks like, how to build it, and how to communicate it clearly.
  • Portfolio & Platform Support: Support existing portfolio companies with research, ecosystem introductions, and competitive intelligence. You’ll also help us improve the internal systems and workflows that underpin how we support our companies at scale.
  • Internal Product & Process Building: Collaborate with our tech team to improve the way we source, triage, and track companies — from new automations in Launchpad to more structured founder touchpoints. You’ll help operationalize how Moonfire scales.
  • Signal Monitoring & Ecosystem Tracking: Scan academic research, niche communities, product forums, and social signals to spot early indicators of new ideas and founding activity. You’ll help ensure we’re ahead of the curve — not reacting to it.

What We’re Looking For

  • Early in your career and hungry to break into venture — This role is designed for people with ~1–3 years of experience, whether in startups, product, finance, or something else entirely — who are eager to move into early-stage investing and learn fast on the job.
  • Curious by default — You go deep into obscure corners of the internet for fun. You ask questions that others haven’t thought to ask. You’re not afraid to challenge assumptions — especially your own.
  • Analytical and structured — You’re as comfortable working with spreadsheets and dashboards as you are mapping an unfamiliar market or pulling a thread from a single tweet. You can cut through noise and spot what matters.
  • Strong communicator — Whether in writing or conversation, you make your thinking clear. You get to the point — and make people want to keep reading or listening.
  • Startup native or enthusiast — You may have built something, invested, advised, or simply devoured everything you could about startups and technology. You follow founders, not influencers.
  • Self-starting and resourceful — You don’t wait to be told what to do. You jump in, figure things out, ask smart questions, and find leverage where others miss it.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with data or productivity tools (e.g. Python, Notion API, GPT workflows, Airtable, Retool).
  • Prior exposure to startups or VC (internships, angel investing, scouting, or building).
  • A side project, blog, tweet thread, or thesis that showcases original thinking or unique insight.

Why This Role is Unique

You’ll be working inside one of Europe’s most forward-thinking VC firms — helping shape how venture itself evolves. You’ll work with a team that blends technology, product, and investment mindsets — and get exposure to how AI and data are embedded into every layer of the investment process. You’ll build judgment fast by being part of real investment conversations from Day 1, not stuck on the sidelines.
