Veterinary Receptionist

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our fantastic Totton and Lyndhurst practices as a receptionist. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you’ll be the first point of contact for our clients and play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

Warmly welcoming clients and their pets with a friendly, compassionate, and helpful approach
Managing the appointment diary efficiently, including online bookings and emergency scheduling
Maintaining accurate client records in compliance with GDPR
Handling busy phone lines, emails, and other communications professionally
Registering clients for the Pet Health Club and assisting with related queries
Processing payments, cashing up, managing client orders, and handling repeat prescriptions
Unpacking deliveries and helping maintain stock levels
Ensuring the reception, waiting area, and consulting rooms are clean, organised, and welcoming
Keeping up to date with ongoing online company training

Our Lyndhurst branch, nestled in a charming, thatched cottage in the heart of the New Forest, offers a quieter, more intimate setting. In contrast, our Totton practice is a vibrant and busy clinic located just outside Southampton—only a 10-minute drive from the forest—making it easily accessible while still close to nature.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who:

Has experience working in a busy veterinary practice ideal but not necessary
Is positive, proactive, and supportive in their approach
Possesses excellent communication and organisational skills
Has strong attention to detail and thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing role
Is confident working independently, especially during Saturday shifts

This is a part-time role working 30 hours per week across a variety of shifts. You will work independently on Saturdays as the sole receptionist, supported by our Veterinary Nurses
