This position offers a varied and rewarding nursing role, with a mix of nurse consultations, inpatient care, theatre work, anaesthesia, and support with surgical and medical cases. The exact balance of duties and rota pattern can be tailored around your interests and experience. You will work closely alongside our veterinary surgeons and benefit from outstanding nursing support across the practice.
Our recently extended and upgraded premises provide a modern and well-equipped working environment, enabling you to deliver excellent patient care. There are no out-of-hours duties associated with this role.
Holmefield Veterinary Clinic is a friendly, long-established 100% small animal practice with an experienced and loyal team. Recent achievements within our nursing team, including completion of the Vets Now Emergency and Critical Care Certificate, reflect our commitment to learning, development, and clinical excellence.
Our main site is located in the beautiful village of Brayton, with a smaller branch practice in Sherburn-in-Elmet. We are based in a semi-rural area of North Yorkshire, offering a fantastic lifestyle balance with excellent transport links. Selby provides regular direct trains to London, Manchester, and Leeds, and we are just a 20-minute drive from York.
The main practice is equipped with modern, reliable facilities including digital X-ray, a brand-new ultrasound suitable for abdominal and cardiac scans, K-laser, multiparameter monitoring, Doppler blood pressure monitoring, separate species wards, and cat-friendly accreditation. We also have a dedicated bereavement room to support clients during difficult times. The practice has been recently refurbished and offers a light, airy working environment, a large staff room, and a separate office for case discussions and admin.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for patient and client care. You will enjoy working as part of a close-knit team, be motivated to continue developing your skills, and take pride in delivering high standards of nursing care. This is a part-time position working 30 hours per week, with shifts scheduled as follows: Tuesday 8:30am–2:00pm, Wednesday 8:30am–7:00pm, Thursday 8:30am–6:00pm, and Friday 8:30am–2:00pm.
