Work life balance that works for you

We understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We offer flexible rota patterns and working hours to accommodate your personal needs and priorities. Whether you prefer fixed or flexible work patterns, we are committed to finding the right solution for you. We are looking for someone to cover 40 hours per week, but we are happy to consider candidates looking for flexible working. Our working day is 8am – 7:30pm with a variety of shifts to cover these hours.

We have recently changed our out-of-hours provision so that after 7pm, any new calls are diverted to Vets Now (either Coventry or Northampton). Using Vets Now, clients receive an excellent extension of care, we can transfer in-patients to Vets Now, if we feel that they would benefit from continuous supervised care. At weekends, we run a normal service until 1pm Saturday, after which again we utilise Vets Now for any further urgent or emergency cases for the rest of the weekend. We do have a nurse and vet available until 4.30pm so we can manage any surgical/diagnostic cases that have come in on Saturday morning. Weekend rota is shared fairly between all nursing staff.

What you’ll be stepping into

We are proud to be the oldest established veterinary practice in Rugby, serving the community for over 75 years. Originally a mixed practice, we have been dedicated exclusively to small animal care for the past 12 years. Our commitment to providing excellent veterinary treatment and exceptional client care is at the heart of what we do. While most of our work is handled in-house, we refer cases as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes. We are part of the Independent Vet Care family, bringing with it exciting opportunities for growth and investment in our practice.

Located in Rugby, our practice benefits from excellent motorway networks and rail links, making travel easy in all directions. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and close to a large reservoir, Rugby offers a charming blend of natural beauty and convenient access to nearby Leamington and Coventry, providing plenty of options for entertainment and amenities.

Operating from a single site with no branch work, our facilities are designed with both our patients and our team in mind. We have five consulting rooms, a spacious main waiting area, and a dedicated cat waiting room. Our separate cat kennels, large dog kennels, and small furry ward provide a comfortable environment for all our patients. Additionally, we boast a newly refurbished isolation suite.

We are well-equipped with modern technology, including two sterile theatres, two dental/dirty stations, Digital AGFA and new IMS Digital Dental Radiography, ESOATE MyLab X7 Ultrasound with Cardiac probes and full-colour Doppler, Tonopen Ocular Tonometry and Slit Lamp, IDEXX Catalyst Biochemistry and ProCyte Hematology, and ECG machines to name a few!

At Bilton, we offer a dynamic environment where a variety of roles can be explored. We strongly encourage our nurses to pursue their passions and develop their own areas of expertise. As an ISFM Cat Friendly Accredited practice, we prioritize the comfort and care of our feline patients. We regularly host in-house CPD sessions led by external experts and are expanding our internal training programs to further enhance our team's skills.

Every Wednesday, we close for an hour to facilitate in-house meetings, training sessions, and "lunch-and-learns," ensuring continuous professional development and team cohesion. We take immense pride in our practice, which has earned an excellent reputation in the local community. Our thriving Facebook page, along with numerous positive Google Reviews and Vet Help Direct testimonials, reflect the high standards we strive to maintain.
