Crossroads Veterinary Practice is a thriving three-site small animal practice serving High Wycombe, Hazlemere and Watlington. We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys variety, autonomy and strong clinical backing. Your time will be split mainly between High Wycombe and your nearest branch, with occasional cover across all sites. Branch work is sole charge, with a supportive wider team always just a phone call away.
Clinical Variety with Freedom to Develop
You’ll manage a varied caseload including cats, dogs, rabbits and small furries, with a slight consult bias. Surgical duties include routine procedures, a broad range of first-opinion work and occasional ECC cases. Vets with an interest or certificate in orthopaedics will find real scope to grow their caseload, while our in-house capabilities allow thorough case work-ups and excellent continuity of care.
Modern Equipment That Supports Great Medicine
Across our sites you’ll have access to digital and dental X-ray, abdominal and cardiac ultrasound, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, IDEXX lab machines, TONO-Pen, EPOC, coagulation testing, and Vets Now equipment when needed, everything required to deliver high-quality clinical care.
Work-Life Balance That Truly Delivers
This is a full-time 40-hour role over four days, with start times of 8–8:30am and finishes between 6–7pm. Part-time applications are welcome. Weekends are shared fairly on a 3:7 rota (pro-rata for part-time), and as a Vets Now host practice there is no OOH or on-call, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
A Purpose-Built Practice Designed for Care
Our main High Wycombe site is a spacious, modern practice with separate cat and dog waiting areas, four consult rooms, a large dispensary, three prep areas, a theatre with two operating tables, ultrasound suite, IDEXX lab, office space for case work-ups, and excellent staff facilities including a wellbeing room and kitchen.
A Team That Truly Has Your Back
You’ll join a welcoming team of 8 vets, 7 RVNs, 2 SVNs and 2 PCAs, supported by an experienced reception, admin and management team. With certificate holders in Surgery and Veterinary Business Management, a strong mentoring culture and support for further qualifications, this is a collaborative and encouraging environment.
Discover Life in High Wycombe
High Wycombe is a vibrant market town offering countryside charm alongside excellent transport links to London, Oxford and the Chilterns. With great shops, restaurants, green spaces and scenic walks nearby, it’s an ideal location for those wanting balance, connectivity and quality of life.
