Head Veterinary Nurse – Small Animal (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse ready to step into a leadership role? This is a brilliant opportunity to join Holly House Vets as our new Head Nurse, where you’ll guide and grow a motivated and close-knit nursing team in a progressive and supportive environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role offering the chance to make a real difference. You’ll support and mentor a nursing team consisting of experienced RVNs, newly qualified RVN\’s, students and VCA\’s, with full encouragement to pursue your own areas of clinical interest along the way.

Work Schedule

Working across a five day week (40 hours). There’s no out-of-hours or on-call requirement, allowing you to maintain a healthy balance around your clinical commitments. This is a temporary post for 12 months with the possibility of extending to permanent for the right candidate. This role is based at the main hospital with occasional cover at the branch surgeries when needed.

About the Practice

Conveniently located just off the ring road in north Leeds, near Roundhay Park, our practice boasts excellent transport links to the city centre. Our team comprises 10 vets, 10 RVNs (including our dedicated night nurse team), 6 SVNs, 4 VCAs, and 10 receptionists working to provide 24 hour wrap around care to our patients at our hospital, general practice clinics and exotics only practice. Having been open now for 30 years we have developed a range of annual team events and a full schedule of practice meetings as well as one to one career development and professional coaching available to all staff. Rotas are carefully crafted to consider work life balance and home time and breaks are prioritised. We want to know what you want from your career, and we will help you to make that happen.
