Craemill Veterinary Clinic is looking for a receptionist to work alongside our team of 10 vets and 15 nursing and support staff in both our Magherafelt & Cookstown clinics. This is a part-time permanent role working 31.5 hours per week from 9:00am-6:15pm Monday-Friday. Saturdays are on a rota basis.

As part of the client care team, duties will include:

  • Use of the practice management system to arrange appointments, register clients and pets, ensure their records are up to date, print invoices, record payments, check and adjust stock and perform end of day procedures.
  • Assess the urgency of a pet’s condition when booking emergency appointments.
  • Develop preventative health care knowledge to appropriately advise clients on topics such as neutering, fleas, worms, vaccination etc.
  • General clerical duties including filing, photocopying, scanning etc.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and tidiness in the reception and front of house area.
  • To be familiar with practice policies for repeat prescriptions and pet insurance.
  • To carry out drug and food ordering and restock dispensary, consulting rooms and theatre.
  • To understand and adhere to Health & Safety protocols at all times.
  • Liaising with courier services and laboratories to ensure that samples are delivered and collected on time.
  • Any other relevant duties which may be required by the practice.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Minimum Grade C in GCSE English & Maths.
  • Understanding the importance of confidentiality.
  • Personable & empathetic disposition.
