About the Hospital:
Spring Wood Lodge aims to support individuals to develop the skills they need to achieve a positive and sustainable discharge into the community.
Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU): There is a six-bed PICU service for women which provides emergency care for those experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis. The service aims to stabilise patients through assessment, care and support in the least restrictive environment possible. The goal is to enable the patient to continue their recovery in a less acute setting, be returned to home area services, or be discharged into the community.
Rehabilitation service: Spring Wood Lodge also provides a Level 2 mental health inpatient rehabilitation service that provides care and treatment for women who have an identified mental health rehabilitation need. This includes individuals who may also have a learning disability, who have a diagnosis of autism or PD. Reasonable adjustments will be made on an individual basis for people with additional needs.
The support we offer: The individuals we support have often experienced trauma, so we strive to create a safe, supportive and understanding environment during times of crisis. Once stabilised, the focus shifts to helping patients develop emotional management and life skills that foster resilience in dealing with future stress. We promote independence to enable individuals to progress towards community living. Individualised treatment plans are psychologically informed and holistic, delivered by an experienced Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) of specialist Nurses and Support Workers.
Location: Nestled in the picturesque town of Guiseley on the outskirts of Leeds, Spring Wood Lodge is surrounded by stunning countryside. Nearby, there is access to a wealth of community amenities, including retail parks, cafes, restaurants, a leisure centre, a local library and an array of shops.
