We are seeking a highly experienced and senior SAP BTP Integration Architect to join a flagship S/4HANA transformation program. This is a critical leadership role responsible for designing and governing the end-to-end integration landscape for one of the largest and most complex S/4HANA Bluefield migrations globally. The ideal candidate possesses a deep, core background in enterprise integration, combined with hands-on experience architecting solutions on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). You will be the ultimate authority on how our new S/4HANA core communicates with our vast ecosystem of connected systems, ensuring a seamless, scalable, and secure flow of data across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Integration Strategy: Develop, document, and govern the end-to-end integration strategy for the S/4HANA Bluefield migration, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
- Architect BTP Solutions: Design and architect robust integration scenarios using the full suite of SAP BTP services, with a heavy focus on SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration/CPI), API Management, and Event Mesh.
- Govern Technical Design: Lead design authority sessions to review and approve all integration patterns, ensuring they are standard, reusable, and fit for purpose.
- Bluefield Migration Expertise: Provide expert guidance on the unique integration challenges of a Bluefield (system conversion) migration, including the remediation of existing ECC interfaces and the design of temporary "dual run" synchronization mechanisms.
- Define Integration Patterns: Establish a clear catalog of standard, approved integration patterns (e.g., real-time API, asynchronous events, batch file processing) that must be used by all project teams.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary technical liaison between functional workstreams, third-party system owners, and development teams to ensure integration requirements are understood and met.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee the development and testing of all integration solutions to ensure they meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
- Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of integration developers and analysts, fostering best practices and high-quality deliverables.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in SAP integration, with at least 5 years in a senior architect role.
- Deep and Core Integration Background: A fundamental understanding of enterprise integration patterns, principles, and best practices (e.g., EAI, SOA, API-led, event-driven architecture).
- Expert-Level SAP BTP Knowledge: Proven, hands-on experience architecting complex solutions with SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration/CPI), API Management, and Event Mesh.
- S/4HANA Project Experience: Must have served as an Integration Architect on at least two full-lifecycle S/4HANA transformation projects.
- Bluefield Migration Experience: Demonstrable experience navigating the specific integration challenges of a Bluefield or system conversion project, including legacy interface remediation.
- API Design & Governance: Strong experience in designing, publishing, and governing RESTful APIs and OData services.
- Strong Communication Skills: The ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, from developers to senior business leaders.
Desired Skills (Highly Advantageous)
- Experience with non-SAP integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi).
- Knowledge of ABAP development, particularly in relation to RFCs, BAPIs, IDocs, and proxy interfaces.
- Experience with S/4HANA data migration strategies and tools.
- Relevant SAP certifications in BTP or S/4HANA.
