Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Security Data Engineer to design and deliver scalable security data platforms, pipelines and integrations.

The role will enable security analytics, machine learning and Security Knowledge Graph use cases by providing reliable, governed and timely security data across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build scalable batch and streaming data pipelines for security telemetry and enterprise data.
  • Develop ETL/ELT processes, data models, APIs and integration services.
  • Integrate platforms such as ServiceNow, Dynatrace and security tooling into enterprise data ecosystems.
  • Build and maintain Security Knowledge Graph data pipelines and graph models.
  • Prepare trusted datasets and features for analytics and machine learning use cases.
  • Implement data quality, lineage, governance, access controls and observability.
  • Optimise data architectures for performance, resilience, scalability and cost.
  • Work closely with security analysts, data scientists, platform teams and architects.
  • Ensure security data is reliable, timely, governed and suitable for downstream analytics.

Required SkillsMandatory

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong hands-on data engineering experience.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills.
  • Experience with modern data platforms.
  • Strong ETL/ELT experience.
  • Experience developing and integrating APIs.
  • Experience with event streaming.
  • Cloud data engineering experience.
  • Experience designing scalable data pipelines and architectures.
  • Understanding of ML engineering and feature/data pipeline requirements.
  • Experience with graph databases.
  • Understanding of Security Knowledge Graph concepts.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow, Dynatrace or comparable ITSM/observability platforms.
  • Understanding of security telemetry and threat intelligence data.
  • Data governance experience.
  • Experience with data quality, lineage and observability.
  • Experience with access control and secure data management.
  • Strong performance, resilience, scalability and cost optimisation experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Professional cloud data engineering certification.
  • Databricks certification.
  • Snowflake certification.
  • Equivalent modern data platform certification.
  • Security or cloud security certification.
  • Experience supporting enterprise security analytics platforms.
  • Experience working across UK and offshore multidisciplinary teams.
