An exciting opportunity has arisen at Vauxhall Motors Manufacturing Plant (Stellantis) in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. Located just off junction 6/7 of the M53, Vauxhall Motors is a well-established car manufacturer in the area.
The role will be on 3 shift rotational pattern, 37.5 hrs per week with the opportunity for overtime.
We are currently looking to recruit Multi Skilled Die Maintenance to work in the Stamping Unit at the Manufacturing Site.
The positions available are permanent and fixed term contract (minimum 9 months).
The main responsibilities and role requirements are as follows:
- Reactive die maintenance to quality issues.
- Performing planned die maintenance tasks.
- Support the production teams during production runs.
- Systematic problem solving for repetitive issues/faults.
- CIP – apply continuous improvement process.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:
Requirements:
- Time Served Apprenticeship – Multiskilled (Tool Makers and Die Fitters) – Minimum Qualification ONC/HNC
- Knowledge of Automotive outer sheet metal ( Skin panel ) Draw dies, line dies and automation equipment
- Skin panel punch repair & surface preparation experience
- Previous experience of new die try out experience & surface quality improvement
- Welding experience Hard & soft facing of trim steels T.I.G – M.I.G
- A sound knowledge of Press Line operation & associated equipment is advantageous
- Fanuc Robot, Programming & set-up advantageous
- Understanding of Hydraulic & Pneumatic circuits advantageous
- Sound interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A high level of self-motivation and tenacity
