Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 - 35 hours per week

Location: Hybrid role - 1 day per week in Warrington office.

Grade: CM40

Job purpose

The Project Manager is responsible for delivering business change and technology infrastructure projects from initiation through to implementation and benefits realisation. The role manages project scope, plans, budgets, resources, risks and stakeholders to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved. The role works across business and IT teams to support effective delivery of operational change and technical implementation.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery using appropriate methodologies, including Prince2, Agile, Waterfall or Hybrid.
  • Maintain project plans, budgets, resource plans, governance documents and progress reporting.
  • Manage scope, dependencies, risks, issues and changes to support delivery on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business objectives, operational requirements and change impacts.
  • Support process improvements, business readiness, communications, training and adoption activities.
  • Monitor benefits realisation and support achievement of business outcomes following implementation.
  • Manage infrastructure projects such as cloud, network, security, workplace technology and platform changes.
  • Coordinate technical teams, suppliers and third-party vendors.
  • Support alignment with architecture, security and operational requirements, including testing, deployment and handover.
  • Maintain project governance, controls and reporting standards.
  • Identify, assess, manage and escalate risks, issues, dependencies and decisions as required.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, security requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Awareness of infrastructure technologies including cloud, networking, cyber security, end-user computing, data centres and Microsoft 365.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Essential

  • Project Management qualification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering business change and technology infrastructure projects.
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies and lifecycle management.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams, stakeholders, suppliers and service providers.
  • Experience delivering projects involving business process change, organisational change, infrastructure refreshes, cloud, network, security or end-user technology deployments.
  • Experience of project governance, risk management and financial management.

Desirable

  • Experience in complex enterprise or regulated environments.
  • Experience delivering digital transformation programmes.
  • Knowledge of ITIL service management principles.
  • Portfolio or programme delivery exposure.
  • Relevant certifications such as AgilePM, Scrum Master, SAFe, Prosci, APMG Change Management, ITIL Foundation or MSP Practitioner.
