As an M&A Transaction Manager in Vattenfall’s Business Unit Solar & Batteries (BU SoBa), you will lead the development and execution of sell-side and buy-side transactions across our entire project portfolio – from single ready-to-build assets to larger platform deals. About BU Solar & Batteries
The Business Unit Solar & Batteries is part of Vattenfall’s Business Area Wind, responsible for all large-scale solar PV and battery storage development across Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and the UK. BU SoBa operates along the full value chain – from early-stage development and financing to construction and operations – with the clear ambition to grow a profitable and scalable solar & storage portfolio as a cornerstone of a future-proof energy system.
Your Role – What You’ll Be Doing
As M&A Transaction Manager in Solar & Batteries, you will be responsible for managing and executing complex renewable energy transactions. Your key responsibilities include:
- End-to-End Sell-Side Management: Conduct the full transaction cycle for solar, battery and hybrid projects, from internal approvals, due diligence and data room preparation to investor outreach, negotiations and closing.
- Buy-Side Execution: Evaluate new acquisition opportunities, coordinate commercial and technical due diligence and offer preparation and deal structuring aligned with BU SoBa’s strategic fit.
- External stakeholder engagement: Identify and manage relationships with investors, banks and advisors, coordinate market sounding processes and act as main point of contact throughout the deal lifecycle.
- Strategic Development: Contribute to the evolution of BU SoBa’s M&A strategies, including the development of holistic offerings, legal entity structuring and economic models.
- Valuation & Market Intelligence: Prepare M&A assumptions and project business cases based on market and investor feedback, screen leads with financial and strategic framing.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with legal, tax, engineering, trading and project teams to ensure smooth execution and internal alignment across all phases of the transaction.

Skills & Experience – What You Bring
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong transactional background and a passion for the renewable energy space:
- University degree in business, law, engineering, or a related field
- Several years of relevant work experience in M&A, corporate finance, investment management, or project development – ideally with exposure to renewable energy transactions
- Strong understanding of due diligence processes, investor communication and commercial contract negotiation
- Solid financial and strategic evaluation skills, including experience working with valuation models and information memoranda
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- Fluency in English and German is required, Dutch is a plus
Reporting Line: You will report to the Director of Portfolio and Asset Management within the Business Unit Solar & Batteries as part of Vattenfall’s Business Area Wind.
Location: Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, London or Stockholm (Preference for Hamburg or Berlin)
