As a Senior Business Controller for our Business Area Wind team, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making by translating finance into business strategy. Our wind, solar and batteries business offers a unique opportunity to be in your element working to help harness the forces which will take us to fossil freedom.
As part of BAWind you will play a key role in one of the most exciting pipelines in the industry with 24GW of capacity stretching out more than a decade ahead across our key European markets. You will not only be involved in developing projects but pioneering cutting-edge innovation, new business models and ways of working with communities and the environment. Working as part of a leading European utility also means you could be helping a growing number of major businesses and brands achieve their own sustainability goals through partnerships.
As our Senior Business Controller, you'll be the driving force behind controlling costs and providing invaluable support to our Project Delivery & Engineering team. Your role will extend far beyond number crunching – you’ll be responsible for crafting reports that not only paint a clear picture of our financial health but also resonate with non-finance team members. Stakeholder management will be a key aspect of your day-to-day activities, requiring a blend of confidence and clarity in delivering financial messages to individuals across the organization. The ongoing SAP S/4HANA implementation as well as the increased usage of AI tools are offering the unique chance of shaping the future reporting landscape from scratch.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the coordination and delivery of our annual 5-year business plan and monthly forecasts. But it doesn’t stop there – you’ll also play a vital role in ensuring that our financial operations align seamlessly with our strategic objectives. This means diving deep into the intricacies of our FTE / FTC plans, optimizing our charge-out infrastructure, and spearheading efficiency initiatives that drive sustainable growth.
- Assisting the Finance Business Partner for the Project Delivery and Engineering Department
- Compiling and delivering monthly reports for the department, which includes data processing, timewriting reports, and management reporting (P&L)
- Offering finance/commercial support (and challenging assumptions) to the Engineering areas by providing timely analysis of their performance, identifying trends/improvements, and recommending actions to management
- Preparing the 5-year Business Plan and monthly forecasts for Engineering
- Overseeing the data structures used for reporting
- Participating in ad hoc project and strategic improvement initiatives
Our ideal candidate is positioned at an advanced stage of their professional finance career, demonstrating stakeholder management and the ability to communicate financial topics in an approachable way, while remaining eager to learn and excel within an international setting.
As our Senior Business Controller, you will bring:
- A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience-based qualification) in a relevant field such as controlling, economics, accounting, or finance.
- Over 7 years of experience in finance roles with a focus on business partnering.
- Prior responsibility for organizing and executing planning and control cycles, as well as overseeing performance management for entire business segments.
- Demonstrated ability as a true business partner, actively contributing to key decision-making processes.
- Aptitude for problem-solving, root cause analysis, and translating financial data into actionable insights.
- Previous exposure to SAP and Power BI is advantageous.
