The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 ÂŁ per year.

This position will be responsible for progressing English and Scottish onshore wind projects in the development phase, working alongside a larger team of project managers and other technical experts. The role will cover all aspects of onshore wind development progression and design, from initial concept to environmental survey, landowner negotiation, civil design, managing planning submission processes, procuring major Tier 1 contracts, securing routes to market like corporate power purchase agreements or contracts for difference, and, finally, developing a business case for a final investment decision. The successful candidate will likely personally manage 1-3 onshore wind projects (number dependent on candidate experience and/or project complexity and phase). This position may support Senior Project Managers in delivering projects and activity manage Associate Project Managers. This is an opportunity to play a key part of the design team bringing forward new British wind projects which will power our lives with fossil-free electricity.

Main responsibilities

  • To deliver internal and external milestones and approvals for development phase (pre-construction) onshore wind projects in Great Britain.
  • Maintain control over key project management documents and processes, such as project timelines, budgets, project management plans, risk registers, stakeholder matrices, and more.
  • To lead a broad range of onshore wind design‑related workstreams including, but not limited to, overseeing ecological survey activities, managing civil engineering design of an onshore wind project, devising stakeholder management plans, and negotiating land agreements.
  • Create and maintain good long‑term relationships with other Vattenfall departments and external consultants involved in the projects, representing the projects under your control.
  • Manage contracts with external consultants and professional advisers appointed to support project development.
  • Help promote a safety conscious, professional team.
  • Communicate confidentially with landowners, public officials, community groups, and other key stakeholders.

Desirable skills include:

  • Formal project management qualifications (e.g. Association for Project Management or Prince2)
  • Previous experience working in a development on renewable energy or other major infrastructure, preferably onshore wind.
