About Vateris
Vateris is a climate technology company developing breakthrough processes to capture and permanently mineralise CO₂ into high-performance construction materials. Our technology reduces the carbon footprint of concrete while improving its performance. Following a 10× scale-up, we are commissioning a pilot plant in Nottingham using real industrial flue gas to support the development of our first commercial demonstrator. We work with leading industrial partners and UK universities to accelerate the decarbonisation of the construction industry.
The Role
We are looking for a Graduate Engineer to support pilot plant operations and concrete production. Working alongside our engineering and R&D teams, you will assist with operating the pilot plant, producing CO₂-derived materials, preparing and testing concrete, and supporting technology scale-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the operation of the pilot plant.
- Produce and test CO₂-derived construction materials.
- Prepare, mix, cast, cure, and test concrete and mortar specimens.
- Operate laboratory and pilot-scale equipment.
- Collect, analyse, and document experimental data.
- Support equipment commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain laboratory records and follow health and safety procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Interest in pilot plant operations, manufacturing, or construction materials.
- Practical laboratory or engineering project experience.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to undertake hands-on engineering work.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with pilot plants or process equipment.
- Knowledge of concrete, cement, or construction materials.
- Experience with laboratory testing and data analysis.
- Understanding of carbon capture or sustainable construction technologies.
