Vateris is a pioneering R&D company developing breakthrough technology to capture and permanently mineralise COâ‚‚ in concrete. Having recently scaled up our production process 10x, we are building a pilot plant in Nottingham that will operate using real flue gas. This will inform the design of a 100x larger commercial demonstrator. C4C is backed by major industrial partners (SCG, Goldbeck) and collaborates with leading UK universities.
C4C is seeking a motivated Graduate Chemist to support laboratory and R&D activities on a flexible, zero-hours basis. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone looking to gain industrial experience in applied chemistry, materials development and plant operation. You will contribute to experimental work, synthesis, and testing, supporting the operation of the pilot plant.
- Support laboratory experiments, including synthesis and testing of materials
- Conduct experimental work and contribute to data collection and analysis
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation
- Support general lab operations, troubleshooting, and organisation
Requirements:
- PhD in Chemistry (2:1 or above)
- Strong understanding of core chemistry principles
- Basic laboratory experience (synthesis, testing, or materials work)
- MSc or PhD in Chemistry or related field
- Experience in materials science, carbon capture, or surface chemistry
- Understanding of cement or concrete chemistry
- Familiarity with data analysis tools
