About Vateris

Vateris is commercialising a breakthrough carbon-negative calcium carbonate platform derived from captured CO₂.

Through our proprietary technology, we produce engineered calcium carbonate materials for construction and higher-value industrial applications.

As we scale towards commercial production, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Director to build our customer base, develop new markets and lead the commercialisation of our calcium carbonate products.

The Role

We are looking for a senior commercial leader with strong experience in milled limestone / Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC) and ideally Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC).

  • The successful candidate will have experience selling mineral products into both:
  • High-volume markets such as cement, concrete, mortars and construction products.
  • Higher-value markets such as coatings, paints, adhesives, sealants and speciality fillers.

This is a hands-on business development and market-building role.

You will be responsible for developing new customers, leading product qualification programmes and converting technical trials into long-term commercial relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy for Vateris' calcium carbonate products.
  • Build new business across construction and premium industrial markets.
  • Identify and develop relationships with major customers, distributors and strategic partners.
  • Lead customer trials, qualification programmes and commercial negotiations.
  • Convert product trials into recurring sales and long-term supply agreements.
  • Develop pricing, market positioning and value propositions.
  • Provide market and customer insight to guide product development.
  • Build and manage a strong international commercial pipeline.

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of commercial, sales or business development experience in calcium carbonate, lime, limestone, industrial minerals or related materials.
  • Strong experience selling milled limestone / GCC or similar mineral products.
  • Proven track record of winning new customers and developing new markets.
  • Experience selling into construction, cement, concrete or building materials.
  • Experience managing technically qualified B2B sales cycles.
  • Strong commercial negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • International commercial experience.

Highly Desirable

  • Direct experience with both GCC and PCC.
  • Experience selling calcium carbonate or functional mineral fillers into coatings and paints.
  • Experience in adhesives, sealants, speciality fillers, polymers or construction chemicals.
  • Existing network within the calcium carbonate, lime, construction or coatings industries.
  • Personality Traits

Business Builder: Proven ability to create new markets and customers rather than simply manage existing accounts.

Commercially Driven: Strong focus on revenue generation, pipeline conversion and closing significant commercial agreements.

Technically Credible: Comfortable engaging with technical teams, formulators and R&D decision-makers.

Entrepreneurial: Comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-growing industrial technology company.

  • Success Metrics
  • Build and convert a strong commercial pipeline.
  • Secure qualification programmes with leading industrial customers.
  • Establish Vateris in both construction and premium calcium carbonate markets.
  • Convert technical trials into commercial sales.
  • Secure long-term supply and strategic partnership agreements.

Compensation

Competitive salary depending on experience and expertise.

The overall package will include base salary + equity options + annual performance bonus.

Vateris offers the opportunity to play a leading role in building and scaling a new generation of low-carbon industrial materials.
