We are working with a leading international law firm on a position within their tax controversy and disputes practice in London. The practice advises corporates on the full spectrum of contentious indirect tax work from HMRC investigations, VAT liability disputes, excise duty matters and MTIC fraud cases, through to all stages of appeal and litigation where required.
The work is technically complex, frequently document-heavy, and often carries a cross-border dimension, particularly around the VAT and customs implications of international supply chains. The disputes team sits within a broader, highly regarded tax group combining a market-leading non-contentious VAT practice with a growing controversy capability, generating a strong and consistent pipeline of high-value, sophisticated instructions.
This is an opportunity for a contentious tax associate to join a specialist, well-resourced practice at an exciting point in its growth. The team invests in its people for the long term.
This position is ideally suited to an individual with:
- 2-4 years PQE in tax disputes, tax litigation or contentious indirect tax
- Hands-on experience of HMRC enquiries, VAT disputes or appeal proceedings
- Qualified in England & Wales
